Professional Profile:

I am a communications and fund development specialist working with international and US-based NGOs and donors to create innovative and effective communication and advocacy initiatives and obtain the resources to implement them.

Over the last 10+ years, I have acquired a broad range of experience and results in fundraising, marketing, outreach, advocacy and training in the NGO, corporate and education sectors. I specialize in results-based communications and advocacy strategies and project development in areas of social welfare and concern -- including health, gender issues, international development, conflict resolution and education.

All of my work with organizations is developed with an eye towards capacity building, honed from significant experience in training and organizational development.

My specific professional experience includes:

  • Serving as a communications director and fundraiser for the Story Workshop, a local educational media NGO in Malawi

  • Working as a communications consultant in Africa for numerous organizations, including UNICEF

  • Directing all professional education & communication programs for Greenlights for NonProfit Success, a US-based nonprofit capacity building organization

  • Managing a USAID peace-building program for Greeks and Turks in Cyprus through the American Embassy's Bicommunal Support Program

  • Serving as senior copywriter for Tocquigny Advertising & Design, an ad agency in Austin, Texas

My portfolio includes using communications strategies to address HIV/AIDS, human rights and democracy, organizational capacity building, and gender issues.
